About the Role

They are seeking to appoint a Project Manager to join their London Projects Office/Swindon Projects Office/Glasgow Projects Office. The postholder will perform the role of Project Manager for medium sized rail related projects and will assist in bid preparation for new projects. You will be responsible for project teams based in London/Swindon/Glasgow and other UK offices. Acting as our client's internal project manager, you will be responsible for controlling and delivering a varied portfolio of concurrent projects. The projects will encompass a wide range of scope, phase and clients.

You will be responsible for ensuring commercial, financial, quality and programme targets are met. Preparation of tender proposals, planning, monitoring and ensuring projects are controlled effectively and delivering projects to client's satisfaction will be a key responsibility.

About You

With a degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or in a technically relevant subject, you will be Chartered or approaching Chartership. Relevant experience in project management is essential, with railways related experience preferred. You will have extensive knowledge of the technical aspects of the design office environment. Knowledge of basic Project Management techniques and procedures, experience in managing teams whether internal or client teams is required. Ideally candidates will have experience of negotiating commercial, financial and contractual arrangements and experience of change management at project level.
