| Position: Technical Manager (Mechanical) Work Location: UK My Client is an established international process EPC contractor, designing and building facilities in the UK and overseas. They have a worldwide reputation for excellence in executing technology driven projects across a wide range of business sectors. My Client wishes to strengthen its engineering group in support of its growth plans. They are looking for candidates with experience on major global EPC Petrochemical / Oil & Gas Projects. My Client offers excellent opportunities for career progression including opportunities in their offices in Delhi and Abu Dhabi. As a global process EPC provider, candidates will be expected to travel internationally in fulfilment of this role. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the successful candidate will have the necessary flexibility and adaptability to embrace the challenges within the Mechanical discipline and be fully committed to working within a Project-led EPC environment The Line Manager of the Mechanical Engineering Group, the group is responsible for rotating and reciprocating machine package unit static equipment, i.e. tanks, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, fired heaters and building services. This role includes: *Ensuring that Mechanical Engineers consider both design and construction philosophies appropriate to high value EPC projects *Managing resources to support proposals and projects *Supporting bids with man-hour estimates and scopes of work *Active support to Mechanical Lead Engineers in delivering quality, managing project costs and achieving schedule targets *Developing and maintaining systems and procedures for the Mechanical Engineering Group *Providing technical consultancy to projects *Being aware of new and evolving technology, health, safety and environmental developments and application/suitability for their projects *Liaison with preferred institutions, industry bodies and appropriate technical organisations *Management the training and development of staff within the Mechanical Group *Liaison with my Clients other centres, e.g. India, Abu Dhabi and Singapore *Ensure that the attitude of the Mechanical Engineers is a 'can do' positive approach to meeting quantity, budget and time schedule, Providing year on year efficiency improvements and maintaining KPIs Qualifications: *Degree in mechanical Engineering or equivalent *Corporate member of relevant institution Experience: Broad experience in diverse aspects of the profession, including delivery of major UK and international EPC contracts, construction and relevant experience in the process plant sector, Including polymers, bio fuels and fine chemicals. *Ability to maintain and improve quality, systems, standards and procedures Prepare and co-ordinate Mechanical estimates in support of proposals *Innovative approach/attitude to providing engineering solutions *Continual improvement to successful project delivery *Leadership skills *Motivational skills *Strong oral and written communication skills, able to deal with senior management on all aspects *Problem solving abilities *Organisational skills So if your CV matches's all of the above please follow the steps below.
