| An outstanding salary package is now on offer for a mechanical or electrical Quantity Surveyor to take the lead role on a prestigious new-build project valued at 20 million. Our client is now recognised as the top M&E contractor in the Southeast and the future leader of building services in the UK. Over the last few years they have redefined the possibilities of M&E contracting nationally, securing the highest profile commercial and luxury residential jobs in central London and the Westend. They have an innovative management structure that is clearly different from the other majors. Their project managers/engineers have an influential voice at all stages of design on major projects through their collaborative working style, often working side-by-side with the main contracting arm of their business on joint ventures. The role: Quantity Surveyor reporting to: commercial manager and management team To maximise the financial effectiveness and profitability of the business, to ensure that the project(s) and business profit objectives are met and that cash is managed to maximise cash performance Key tasks: Commercially responsible for a project or a number of smaller projects All Quantity Surveying duties including measurement & valuation Preparation of interim valuations and applications Interim administration and settlement preparation of sub-contractors accounts Assist in the preparation of loss and expense accounts Advise project team on contractual implications as encountered and provide advice accordingly Discuss/negotiate with the Clients representative or other members of the professional team Participate in risk/opportunity project workshops Prepare/assist in the production of contract review reports Prepare/assist in the production of management account information Assist the all aspects of the pre-start project works, procurement, etc Assist/establish from award of contact the most economical method of construction Identify change; follow change control procedures and processes to ensure recovery Ensure that the contract documents are properly executed prior to project commencement Assist generally in the operations of the business Experience: Possesses appropriate qualifications and/or experience with good knowledge of the building services industry Accurate and timely issue of deliverables Good customer facing skills An outstanding opportunity: In the building services awards our client was recognised by the industry as the best Assured support in delivery of your project - our will have an influential voice at all stages of design on major projects working side-by-side with the main contractor Emphasis on rewarding and recognising talent immediately for achievement High profile Westend projects offering excellent and exciting working environments HumRes is a specialist recruitment consultancy with an extremely successful M&E building services division.
