| An outstanding salary package is now on offer for both a Mechanical and Electrical Estimator to join the Essex office of a major M&E Contractor; Group turnover of work secured for the Essex office - 60 million. The best salary packages available in Essex are now being offered to both electrical and mechanical building services Estimators to take the leading roles on a number of front-page commercial fit-out projects, value of M&E works 1 - 7 million; turnover of our client 2008 60 million. Fact: Our client offers the most competitive salaries for Estimators in Essex - if you feel you are head and shoulders above the other project managers in your company then our client would like to find out more. Over the last 4 years the cream of Estimators have been attracted to our client and enjoy 65K salary packages; the turnover of staff at this level in the company is near to zero as the selection of these managers is very strict with only the best being offered positions within the company. With an office on the boarders of London and Essex staff can stay local to their homes in Essex; however, visit sites throughout London with the immediacy expected by some of the most demanding clients in the City. If you are the best you can expect to earn a lot of money in a short space of time and find yourself in a very senior position very quickly. The role: Estimator reporting to the Director The preparation, submission and management of allocated tenders Key tasks: Accurately quantify materials, plant and labour requirements for allocated projects Ensure that for pre-designed projects, enquiries relative to the supply of materials, plant and labour are satisfactorily dealt with and that relevant information, contractual and trading particulars are distributed Attend and contribute at tender stage strategy/design innovation meetings Prepare estimates utilising computer-aided systems including input of data, ensuring that appraisal procedures are adhered to throughout Produce summary sheet and associated documentation and presentation of the package for tender adjudication to meet deadlines Prepare client documentation on completion of tender, including production of associate correspondence Prepare post-tender reports Prepare files to laid-down standards and undertake costing variations In relation to preparation of tenders, attend site surveys and liaise with other departments, suppliers and subcontractors to tender submission stage Negotiate lowest prices with suppliers and subcontractors Advise the Director of potential areas of savings and value engineering solutions When allocated the lead role, assume responsibility for co-ordination with other Estimators on tasks completed, within given timescales and checking their output for inclusion within the tender Experience: HNC/HND or other recognised qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Building Services or excellent craft experience Experience of a wide range of Mechanical or Electrical Building Services installations and systems in the UK A proven estimating track record The ability to read, interpret and understand specifications and drawings Experience of computerised estimating software The ability to supervise Estimators and assistants in a team to achieve tender return dates and take responsibility for that team The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines Product knowledge within the Mechanical or Electrical sector in the UK An outstanding opportunity: Stay local - our client has strong local roots in Essex, yet has developed as one of the most formidable competitors in the London fit-out arena Head up prestigious London contracts getting your name known by influential city clients Earn what has been regarded as the best salary packages in M&E contracting in London in 2007/8 HumRes is a specialist recruitment consultancy with an extremely successful M&E building services division.
