| Rail CAD Technician - South Africa Role Profile This opportunity will pit you working in one of the largest multi-disciplinary consultancies worldwide who are developing their Engineering capability in South Africa. The position will also offer the opportunity to work on one of the largest rail and port expansion projects in the world. You will be working on a national scale projects to increase capacity on a major line through the region. The Rail CAD Technician is a challenging and equally rewarding position presenting an excellent opportunity to help grow a major new business in Southern Africa. Role Description The CAD Technician will be involved in the complete interaction with the function's dynamics and processes. The role will be working on a range of heavy Rail Civil Engineering and project facilitation as necessary for delivery of the project's requirements. "Working on a range of Civil CAD design engineering solutions. "Project stage dependent, the CAD work will cover a range of CAD marine design and assessment, foundations and earthwork stabilisation. "Deliver detailed CAD design proposal for structures, foundations and earthworks within the discipline design project demands. "Supporting other team members to deliver drawings for civil and structural schemes. "Responsible for the maintenance of all technical & engineering drawings using both 2D & 3D CAD software as necessary. "Probable involvement in project and workload decisions, "Depending on experience, supervise junior technicians (as appropriate). You "Ideally VISA applicable for SA "Capable and prepared to remain committed to project for a minimum of 3 years. "It is essential that the candidate be CAD experienced ideally within a Rail Engineering environment - MX Rail a benefit "Ideally the candidate will have worked within a large or/and multi-disciplinary design engineering project thus appreciating its complexities. "Capable of quickly and accurately solving complex problems. "Good reporting skills to a range of colleagues and senior managers.
