| SUB AGENT - OLYMPICS PROJECT - £35-45K + Package Our client is a leading civil engineering main contractor who deliver a full range of engineering activities through their specialist business units. With an annual turn over in excess of £3 billion they are well known within the industry for working on large projects and delivering these with first a class approach. Currently they are looking to recruit a Sub Agent with roads and bridges experience to work in and around Stratford which will make up part of the new Olympics site for 2012. As the sub agent you will: * Ensure that on site staff follow health, safety and environmental matters * Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures through method statements, risk assessments and briefings * Manage, supervise and mentor section, site and assistant engineers to ensure high levels of engineering work * Maintain good working relationship with the supply chain * Adopt and promote a cost-conscious attitude through efficient use of company resources * Communicate with commercial staff to ensure all records for measurement and payment purposes are prepared promptly, in appropriate form * Communicate with general foreman to ensure adequate work preparation and resources availability * Procure necessary materials, sub-contracts and plant in sufficient time. * Regularly review the performance, development and training needs of subordinate staff * Deal with project manager and construction manager with any potential commercial or contractual liabilities * Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time You will: * Be experienced in working on bridges or road projects * Be HND, HNC or Degree qualified in Civil Engineering * Have a good understanding of civil engineering and will have worked on large civils projects * Have worked for a civils main contractor You will work well within a team show strong leadership qualities.
