| SENIOR ENGINEER - £35-50K + PACKAGE - KINGS CROSS Our client is a leading civil engineering mains contractor who has a reputation for working on large-scale projects and delivering these with a professional and first-class service. In operation for over 80 years they have a multi billion pound turnover. SENIOR ENGINEER They are currently working on package 6 at Kings Cross Station worth £150 million. The project is split into two packages the first package is the refurbishment of the old Victorian rail offices and the second is the installation of a dome roof structure over the station. SENIOR ENGINEER They are looking for a senior engineer to initially work on both packages with a view further down the track to oversee work on the dome roof. As the senior engineer you will be responsible for all engineering matters related to a project to ensure that it is constructed in accordance with the contract drawings. Your key activities will be to: * Manage the site dimensional control, ensuring that all contractors have the facilities for setting out the works * Manage quality control * Manage temporary works design, ensuring that the company's procedures are implemented and all works are undertaken safely * Plan and programme the works, producing and reviewing construction methods statements * Manage construction records * Prepare project execution, health and safety and environmental plans * Ensure that work is undertaken safely * Work with the design team to resolve technical problems * Lead and motivate the engineering team SENIOR ENGINEER You will: * Correctly interpret information from drawings and specifications and transfer this to the site operatives and sub-contractors * Be fully conversant with current surveying equipment * Be a forward thinker who has good ideas * Have very good problem solving skills * Have excellent communication skills and commercial nous * Be driven by goals * Have over 3 years experience in civil, structural or building engineering * Hold an engineering degree On offer to you will be the opportunity to work on a large-scale infrastructure project with the opportunity to progress to management in the future.
