| SECTION ENGINEER - EAST LONDON - £35-50K + PACKAGE Our client is leading the civil engineering industry winning some of the biggest and most complex projects. They have built success through their collaboration of long standing relationships which in turn has resulted in them having stable long term projects in and around the London area. Currently they are looking to employ a section engineer to work on a £230million project over 36 sites in east London. The project involves the increasing in the length of stations to be able to have an extra carriage. SECTION ENGINEER Your duties as the section engineer will be to: * Set a high personal example of safety and environmental behaviour * Supervise junior engineers to ensure works are carried out safely * Monitor the work under their control to ensure that any unsafe work conditions and non compliance with company policies and procedures are promptly remedied * Maintain good working relations with the design team * Advise engineers on setting out methods and techniques * Ensure that the drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction of the works * Ensure that works are accurately and clearly set out before work is programmed to commence * Communicate with foremen and gangers to ensure full understanding of information provided * Arrange formal checking of setting out and ensure check request form is completed * Ensure reasonable survey book standards and daily diaries are maintained by engineers * Prepare written risk assessments and method statements for the control of the works * Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes/variations, subcontractor's attendance, and records of work related discussions with client / designer / RE / project team * Ensure all delivery tickets are cost coded and passed to accounts dept. for processing. * Order materials and maintain register of all orders placed and confirmed * Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time SECTION ENGINEER You will have: * Experience working on platform extension along with bridge works * Experience working on structures and heavy concrete works * A qualification in Civil Engineering SITE ENGINEER You will be ambitious and looking for the opportunity to establish yourself with a leading main contractor whilst working well within a team.
