| Engineer - Tunnelling Project - £30-40K + Package Our client a civil engineering main contractor have established themselves as an industry leader working on some of the largest projects within the UK. Due to increasing growth they are looking for an engineer to work on a tunnelling project. The project involves the delivery of a new flood relief system in East London. The work involves the digging of new manholes, service diversions, tunnelling, and works on a major pumping station which is valued at £40 million. As the Senior engineer on site you will: * Review Quality control and implement best practice * Apply health and safety regulations * Explain critical path work for the section or project * Ensure records are kept for work performed, problems experienced, average labour force in each area, verbal communications to/from client, sub-contractor and third parties * Illustrate Project/Regional Environmental Plan, including rolling programmes and review progress * Provide feedback to the agent and project manager * Supervise and review performance of junior engineers * Prepare risk assessments and method statements * Oversee setting-out and check to ensure work is set out correctly * Regular calibration testing of instruments and recording of tests * Reviewing drawings/method statements and passing information on to the Site Supervisor and/or labour force, * Monitor subcontractors including reviewing their Method Statement and Risk Assessments * Develop and update sectional programme in line with main construction programme * Carry out material reconciliation and provide documentary reports You will have: * A civil engineering degree or similar HNC/HND * Tunnelling experience within the UK * CSCS card and full clean driving licence In reward for your efforts will be the opportunity to work for a leading civil engineering main contractor, an excellent salary along with package and scope to progress within the business.
