| SUB AGENT - CIVILS MAIN CONTRACTOR - £35-45K + PACKAGE £300million!?! This is the size of the contract recently secured by our client. Impressive in itself but simply another flagship civil construction project that will be worked on by this Major contractor in 2008. Due to the securing of this project they are looking to bring in site engineers who have experience but are looking to work on larger projects with a leading contractor. As the sub agent you will: * Ensure that on site staff follow health, safety and environmental matters * Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures through method statements, risk assessments and briefings. * Manage, supervise and mentor section, site and assistant engineers to ensure high levels of engineering work * Maintain good working relationship with the supply chain * Adopt and promote a cost-conscious attitude through efficient use of company resources * Communicate with commercial staff to ensure all records for measurement and payment purposes are prepared promptly, in appropriate form * Communicate with general foreman to ensure adequate work preparation and resources availability * Procure necessary materials, sub-contracts and plant in sufficient time. * Regularly review the performance, development and training needs of subordinate staff * Deal with project manager and construction manager with any potential commercial or contractual issues * Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time You will: * Have good experience at senior engineer or agent level * Have thorough knowledge of Company health safety quality and environment procedures * Demonstrate the application of growing commercial and contractual knowledge * Be HND or Degree qualified in Civil Engineering On offer to you will be the opportunity to work on major civils projects and give you exposure to project management with a view to manager projects in the future.
