| Senior Mechanical Engineer Uk My client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join one of their multi-disciplinary Building Engineering design teams in UK to work on a variety of prestigious projects with leading international architects in the UK and overseas. They are looking for a candidate who will fit in with their progressive, design-led and social group and become a contributor to the excellent atmosphere which exists within the team. Role: Leading a multidisciplinary team on high profile buildings either in the UK or overseas. For the overseas projects this could include brief travel trips overseas for design meetings with the architects and the client, but will not require extended periods abroad. Assisting the team in leading competition submissions for winning new work with prominent London architectural practices. * Undertaking design and supervising an MEP team for these projects. * You should be able to develop and encourage sustainable building design on projects * You will co-ordinate the preparation of designs and specifications in multi-disciplinary teams on projects ranging from: o Museums, Galleries and public buildings o Residential developments to, educational and other public buildings in the UK and overseas. o Hotels & Leisure buildings/complexes o Analysis of complex microclimates including involvement in projects from inception through to completion. * Attending meetings and communicating with clients to establish their needs * Strengthening and developing the professional team using technical and management skills * Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team Requirements * Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering, and have achieved Chartered status through either IMechE or CIBSE (not essential but would help) * Extensive experience in mechanical building services design including a varied portfolio of completed projects * Museum and gallery design experience would be a benefit but not essential * Experience of working overseas would be a benefit but not essential * Experience of leading teams on multi-disciplinary projects * Strong technical skills and high standards of accuracy * Excellent people management skills and experience of managing staff at all levels * Confidence to interface with clients * Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines is essential * Adept at managing a varied workload and able to prioritise tasks * Good grasp of fundamental principles with a willingness to both adapt and develop skills * Ability to think outside your specialism and integrate multi-disciplinary requirements into holistic co-ordinated solutions. * Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills * Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal) * Highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges * Excellent people management skills and experience of managing staff at all levels * Able to quickly develop successful client relationships * Able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness Your application should include a concise statement on how you meet the requirements of the role.
