| Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Leeds £35-45K We now require a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to work on a range of challenging, dynamic and high-profile projects where you will have the ability to receive and develop a brief and contribute to the development of the design and construction process. The Bristol office covers the M4 Corridor and the South West of England as far east as Hampshire. It provides services to its clients to include structural engineering, building services, geo-environmental, railways, bridges and highways, civil and infrastructure engineering telecommunications, and housing development. Job description The successful applicant will work as part of a new team to deliver medium to large scale projects in both the public and private sector. Principle functions will include: *Electrical design work for a range of projects *Liaise with other construction professionals *Leading small teams of engineers to deliver projects on time and to budget *Ensuring compliance with company quality systems *Calculate lighting levels within rooms, provide all electrical layout and establish power schemes *Coordinate with the Mechanical design engineer and issue all information to allow mechanical design to be completed *Liaise with the design team members to convey the requirements of the M&E service to them, as well as understanding the client brief *Write the specification for the project and establish the schedules for all equipment *Respond to contractor queries and attend site progress meetings Candidate specification Candidates should have a good multidisciplinary knowledge of their field and be able to positively advise other disciplines regarding aspects of their design as it impacts mechanical engineering issues. Essential requirements: *BSc, BEng or HNC/D in related subject preferable *Experience and exposure of a range of electrical engineering solutions *Must have experience in lighting, power, fire alarm, data cabling and stand by electricity supplies design and specification *Previous client facing experience *Experience in the use of Amtech *A strong technical focus *Capability to work to deadlines and work autonomously when required *Excellent written and oral communication skills Desirable requirements: *Chartered or on route to Chartership *Previous experience of leading small teams to deliver projects on time and to budget *Experience working in UK Electrical engineering involved in the lifecycles of projects *Experience working in or with a multi-disciplinary design consultancy *The ability to work on own initiative on smaller projects would be an advantage *ACAD Experience *Experience in the use of Hevacomp We offer you A competitive salary and monthly profit share scheme.
