| Senior Geo-Technical Engineer Our global clients geotechnical specialists provide a service to other sections of the firm as well as undertaking direct geotechnical commissions for many outside bodies such as government departments, local authorities, financial institutions, other consulting engineers, contracting and commercial organisations and private individuals. Projects range from a foundation assessment for a single building to the geotechnical aspects of major projects such as new towns, highways, prestigious structures, airports and bridges. About the Role This is an exciting opportunity for a well-established, fully competent professional to join one of our key discipline groups. This position involves acting as the leading technical contributor in some of our more complex and critical client situations, and may also act as Team Leader. As a Team Leader, the jobholder may be leading a small team of people with responsibility for day-to-day supervision of staff, management of individual performance and scheduling of resources. As an established professional, the jobholder develops and maintains high credibility and influence inside the client and within the clients' organisation and interfaces up to senior management level and possibly Board level. The role involves significant project responsibility with the jobholder leading projects with considerable impact, proactively managing change requests and identifying risks. The role also involves identifying opportunities to leverage our expertise in marketplace and delivering presentations as a technical expert to peer groups, senior management, clients and suppliers. About You Extensive experience of geotech engineering, preferably within a development environment. Hands on experience of site investigations. Broad experience of brownfield site regeneration projects Experience of geotechnical issues associated with regeneration projects. Appreciation of environmental constraints to development. First degree in engineering geology/ civil engineering / geology Masters degree in related soil mechanics/geotechnics Chartered Civil engineer/ Geologist Knowledge and use of geotechnical computing programmes for slope stability and logging. Excellent communication skills, commercial accountability, project management skills. Must have strong report writing skills. Must be able to deliver P&L budgets.
