The company has been at the forefront of the Water Industry for over 50 years, establishing a track record in more than 50 countries. Their activities encompass the complete water cycle and their clients include developers, contractors, water companies, industry, regulators and agencies. Our client currently has the requirement for a Senior Engineer About the Role There is a current opportunity to lead a design team engaged in the development and procurement of water and wastewater facilities. The water Environment team carries out challenging and interesting projects related to flood management, hydrology, sustainable drainage, surface water management and environmental assessment. Requirements As Senior Engineer of the Water division you will report directly to the group Director and will hold managerial responsibilities over a small team of Engineers and Technicians who will collectively work on a range of wastewater projects. The role requires the provision of technical support in environmental issues to other departments within the company including drainage for roads schemes, preliminary planning assessments and detailed water services design for a variety of domestic, commercial and industrial projects. You will lead developments from a Project Management stand point and will also take a hands-on role with design and liaising with site teams at construction phase. Necessary Skills *Honours degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering. *Preferably Chartered Engineer or be working towards attaining that qualification. *Minimum two years post-graduate design experience for water or wastewater treatment facilities or pumping stations, experience in project management. *Familiarity with either river modeling and engineering hydrologyPipe line, or wide-ranging intrastate design. *Detailed technical knowledge of water services including water supply, wastewater collection and drainage. *Ability to produce Preliminary Reports, detailed designs and preparation of construction documents/ drawings. *Some knowledge of contract documents and contractual procedures used in the water services field. *Ability to lead project teams of engineers and draftsmen. *Ability to deliver under tight deadlines and within allotted budgets and to take responsibility for the financial management of projects. *Ability to manage third party contractors and sub-consultants. *Strong technical report writing skills and ability to make presentations. | ||
