| Design Manager Central london up to £80k plus package U4473 My client is one of today's leading infrastructure, building and business services companies, with 40,000 employees and an order book worth over £9bn. Together with our clients in health, education, commercial property, local and national government, transport and defence, we are finding innovative, sustainable ways to improve the quality of life for everyone. The job purpose is the overall leadership and management of a team of design management resource on a group of Projects within the region from pre-qualification to completion. The Team will consist of a number of Design Managers and, on a project-by-project basis, a number of site-based staff Key Responsabilities: Ensure all aspects of the Design Works instructions are implemented. - Fulfil the role of Bid Manager as applicable. - Review the appropriate Design Team for each project and agree strategy with the Design Director. - Ensure the Contractors proposals, on each project, are complete, unambiguous, have been reviewed by the bid team and have been updated to include all post tender negotiations. - For each project, ensure all designer agreements, scope of works and design management plans are issued, agreed and fully understood by all parties. - For each project, ensure a realistic design programme and information required schedule is produced and agreed by all parties to satisfy design, procurement and construction requirements. - Ensure the design has been reviewed on all Projects with respect to mitigating Health and Safety issues prior to construction. - Coordinate resource requirements with the other Principal Design Manager(s) and Principal Building Services Manager(s), ensuring adequate resource is provided at each stage of the Projects. - Liaise with and visit, on a regular basis, the site teams to ensure all parties are fulfilling their obligations and review the Design programme and processes to satisfy himself on the performance of the Project and site team with respect to design. - Liaise with the Design Director reporting on individual project performance, staff resource requirements, staff pastoral issues, training and development requirements. - Assist the Design director in the development and implementation of Continuous Improvement programmes. - Maintain Close relationships with customers and principal design team members. - Ensure that all National Design Reporting methods are maintained for each project for further information please email: nick.smith@oneillandbrennan.com If the above position isn't exactly right for you, we also have a number of vacancies for Contracts Managers, Site Mangers, Project Managers, Estimators, Quantity Surveyors, Buyers and Design and Build Co-ordinators within the London areas and surrounding counties | ||
