| Our client will require you to be involved in Planning, Designing and managing open spaces including both natural and built environments. You will be responsible for providing an innovative and aesthetically pleasing environment for people to enjoy, whilst ensuring that changes to the natural environment are appropriate, sensitive and sustainable. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *Overseeing the design of a variety of projects, including urban regeneration schemes, energy, leisure, business and retail schemes, mixed use developments and maintaining the character of sites of natural beauty. *Establishing general landscape requirements with clients *Conducting preliminary studies of the site (including contours, soil, ecology, buildings, roads) *Assessing a site's potential to meet the clients specifications *Carrying out Environmental Impact Assessments *Seeking and taking into account the views of local residents, potential users and parties with a vested interest in the project and attending public inquiries to give evidence if necessary *Accurately presenting and preparing detailed plans and working drawings, including applications, construction details and specifications for the project *Presenting proposals to clients, dealing with their enquiries and wishes, and negotiating any amendments to proceed to final design *Contacting and coordinating manufacturers and suppliers *Ensuring that deadlines are met and liaising with other professionals on the project *Monitoring and checking work on-site ESSENTIAL *A recognized degree in a Landscaping area e.g. landscape Architecture *Member of the landscape institute *Excellent design/drawing skills including CAD *Good communication and negotiation skills DESIRABLE *Creative ability, imagination and enthusiasm *A concern for the environment and an understanding of conservation issues *Good observation skills and an eye for detail | ||
