Design Manager

Position Brief:

• To support effective liaison with the Principals, Consultants, Landlords and Client Management team in the planning, design, preparation and handover of deliverables, as and when required.
• To ensure that Design deliverables are complete and accurate for the successful and timely achievement of given projects.
• To assist the Design Manager or Team Leader in agreeing the project brief, establish timelines, delegate tasks and monitor progress of the same.
• Obtain feedback and input on proposed layouts from Store Design / Project Manager and review / recommend changes, if any, required during construction so as to facilitate flexibility of retail store design implementation.
• To undertake regular project reviews, evaluate the design proposals against the brief and specified requirements and offer suggestions for improvement.
• Coordinate / Liaise with Consultant & Client on all client related changes, comments, and ensure incorporation in the design.
• To ensure compliance with, and implementation of company and BU requirements in respect of quality, safety and environmental management.
• To undertake Value Engineering and Constructability reviews during the various design stages and advice Design Manager on any matters arising.
• 9. Monitor the performance of the Auto Cad designers to ensure the design correctness, completeness and compliance with technical procedures.

Candidate Criteria:

• Degree or Diploma in Architecture/Civil Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification relevant to construction project management
• Networking of architects, contractors, engineers and government authorities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and well developed communication skills.
• Understanding of the market and of design/ legal terms.
• Experience in retail preferred
