Quantity Surveyor/Assistant Quantity Surveyor - London City Company Remuneration: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum Generous Pension contribution Scheme Private Health care Company Car or Car Allowance The client: My client is a market leader in constructing leading-edge commercial buildings, refurbishments, workplace solutions and tenancy fit-outs. They have over 7,500 employees in 78 offices worldwide and undertake both large and small projects for a client base that includes many of the world's leading companies. Project My client was appointed as Prime Contractor for the first phase of the Ministry of Defence Single Living Accommodation Modernisation (SLAM). Project SLAM is one of the largest new build and refurbishment projects in the UK, worth in excess of €1.8 billion (£1.2 billion) over ten years. Construction work started in 2003 and the first phase will run for five years and involves the upgrade/ re-provision of some 14,000 bed spaces, together with utility and common areas and ancillary facilities, for service personnel across the country. Job My client is in need for a Quantity Surveyor to take overall responsibility in conjunction with the Regional Project Manager for one of the SLAM Regions specifically for all commercial aspects of the DE SLAM contract To take overall responsibility in conjunction with the Regional Project Manager for one of the SLAM Regions specifically for all commercial aspects of the DE SLAM contract To compile the monthly reports in a timely manor to allow the consolidated Project SLAM Report to be completed to programme, and to agree the report with the Project Manager responsible. Requirements: o RICS membership is desirable o BSc in Quantity Surveying or construction related subject o Ideally three years plus years UK Quantity Surveying experience o Contractor and Construction background o D&B experience is a preference but not essential This role offers good autonomy in a unique working environment in the MOD sector and would be "a foot in the door" to work for a prestigious contractor with an impressive variety of projects.
