| An outstanding salary package is now on offer for a mechanical building services projects manager to join the London office of a Northern M&E Contracting Group. Group turnover of work secured for 2008 - 45 million, London turnover 15 million. In 2003 our client established a London office in order to build a presence in a growing southern market and to put itself in a good position to bid for jobs after London's successful bid for the 2012 Olympics. Since setting up in London our client has secured business valued annually at 5 million. As turnover grew the reputation of its contract delivery in the North was continued by a decision to transfer decision making for the Southern Region to London. In 2007 the decision was made to appoint a regional Managing Director to control the Southern region as a business in its own right. The MD of the Southern Region brings 30 years extensive contracting experience at a top 3 M&E contractor; his brief is to increase turnover of the Southern Region to 35 million by 2012. The role: Project Manager reporting to the Contracts Manager/Operations Manager To control the technical execution of a project within the scope of the drawings, specification and quality plan for a cost, which will enable the company to maintain or maximise gross profit of the contract Key tasks: Interpret the requirements of the specification of the drawing Understand technical content of the specification and drawings Resolve any conflicts between their specification/drawings and our tender submission Resolve any technical queries during the contract Control contract expenditure Assist in the validation of tender values Manage the sub-contract packages to comply with our requirements Manage the productivity of the labour resource Assist with the procurement of all features of the project, work closely with Project Engineers and Commercial Manager on all variations and changes Liase with the Commercial Manager to maximise returns and deliver the project in the most profitable manner Report, pursue and implement variations/potential change items promptly Manage resources Monitor and report progress of the installation against programme Resolve programme pinch points with the Main Contractors Manage and monitor material deliveries Programme development before and during contract Co-ordinate sub-contractors and suppliers Communication and relationships Manage and communicate verbally and in writing with Main Contractors Liase with the Professional Team Manage the information flow to our sub contractors Communicate and inform the rest of our site team and senior management Attend relevant site meetings Good relationship with client Experience: Coming from a mechanical building services background (plumbing, heating, piping, ventilation - HVAC) Past experience (similar contracts, type and size in the UK) Awareness of all associated disciplines (e.g. estimating, QS, planning) IT experience (basic) Contract law (basic knowledge) Commercially aware An outstanding opportunity: You will be a project manager in the fastest growing region of a Group with a turnover of work secured annually of 45 million This is a ladder to a Senior Contract Manager's role With growth predicated to increase by 10 million in 5 years the bonuses will be exceptional Outstanding basic salary of 45-50K, benefits, and bonus incentives HumRes is a specialist recruitment consultancy with an very successful M&E building services division.
