Job Description:
Quantity Surveyor - Schools Maintenance - West London My client has a team of Quantity Surveyors, and an opportunity to add one wore Quantity Surveyor to the team. As the Quantity Surveyor you will be working for a Local Authority. You will be expected to set the standards for the Quantity Surveyor team, by ensuring office procedures are followed and developed, by checking and approving the work of other Quantity Surveyors within the office. Location: West London and Middlesex Remuneration: £35,000 per annum as a Quantity Surveyor Company car / car allowance Private Health care The Quantity Surveyor Job Role: As a member the team, the Quantity Surveyor will participate in contract review, planning and strategy, and assist in the co-ordination of all financial matters within the office. You shall also need to ensure that all staff are aware of and work to agreed budgets, and cost control procedures. The Quantity Surveyor Project: The company has a 10 year cost plan and framework contract with the London borough of Ealing, which incorporates 70 schools. The role is to maintain the schools' assets, including classrooms, leisure facilities and dining. Typical duties of the Quantity Surveying team: The Quantity Surveyor role within the Quantity Surveying team will be to producing project estimates for design stages from pre feasibility work, budget setting and feasibility studies, progressing through elemental cost plans, to pre-tender estimates. You will also be involved in production of the tender documentation, tender evaluations and reports, and preparation of contract documentation. In addition to this, the Quantity Surveyor will assist project managers in administering JCT contracts for all forms of new-build and refurbishment projects, including monthly contract valuations and payments, measurement of valuations, agreement of final accounts and the certification of final payments. Requirements: RICS membership and honors degree in quantity surveying or equivalent. Candidates should have experience of working for a consultancy and experience in helping others within a team to deliver the typical duties of the Quantity Surveyor.
