| This global consultancy has an excellent reputation worldwide and is one of the largest engineering practices in Ireland. The company continues to attract a broad range of high-profile projects throughout their multi-disciplinary civil specialities. They have created an environment where engineers strive to be innovative and practical, optimizing the benefit to clients. Currently our client has the requirement for a Project Engineer within their Flood Risk Management area and is required to work with one of their expanding Infrastructure teams. Based in Dublin, the ideal candidate will be looking to further his/her career and gain invaluable experience within an established consultancy within a friendly working environment. This is a permanent role and offers the successful candidate long-term opportunities for career development. Required Experience/Qualifications: *Successful candidates will have a minimum of 2-3 years post-qualification experience, most of which will be gained within an engineering consultancy environment. *Engineering or Geography based academic background preferably with higher degree. *Responsibilities for reporting and liaising with the client. *Chartered or close to achieving chartership. *Experience in some or all of the following areas: Flood Hydrology ,Open Channel Hydraulic Modelling (1D or 2D), Flood mapping , Flood Risk Assessment ,Design of Flood Risk Management Measures, River Restoration and / or Flood Damage Calculation. *Involvement in site surveys and flood information gathering using The Flood Estimation Handbook for the production of flood risk assessments. *Identification and development of business / work plans in order to reduce and manage flood risk. *Supporting Health and Safety best practice by utilizing safe working practices to comply with policy and standards. *Promote the efficient and effective use of resources in order to ensure activities are completed on time and to cost. *Ensuring proper tendering of contract. *Use of Geographic Information Systems / AutoCAD. *Irish or UK experience is desirable. Responsibilities: *Project Planning. *Analysis & design and review of analysis and design work of intermediate and junior staff. *Ensuring full co-ordination between specifications and drawings. *Estimating. *Cost Control in accordance with company standards on all projects. *Compiling project reports. *Conceptual design studies and reports. *Training and professional development of junior and intermediate staff working as part of group. | ||
