| This company provides engineering services to public and private sector clients undertaking major projects in the fields of water, environmental, civil and structural engineering. They are committed to providing clients with the best service on their projects. Their aim is to develop lasting solutions to their clients' needs giving an efficient service and value for money. They have offices based all over the UK and Ireland which allows quick and efficient liaison with all their clients. This particular vacancy is for a Geotechnical Engineer to work within their office in Edinburgh covering a wide variety of projects primarily wind energy, development/ foundations, waste facilities, highways, water engineering infrastructure. Responsibilities: *Preparation of geotechnical desk studies, technical proposals, assessments and reports *Provide technical expertise regarding geotechnical issues and solutions *Planning, implementation, managing and reporting on ground investigations; *Work on large and challenging projects *Design of cut and fill slopes, retaining walls, and foundations *Assisting the Technical Director to manage the overall team *Reinforced earth design *Liaison with internal and external clients. Requirements: *BSc in Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent degree required *Chartered engineer or working towards chartership would be ideal. *Possess good business development skills and commercial awareness *Ideally 3 years+ experience broadly based experience of geotechnical engineering design *Have a strong awareness with some hands on experience of legislation and risk assessment techniques. *Have good writing skills, and be confident in presentations *Have strong IT skills, including practical knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS applications Benefits: *Excellent remuneration package. *Discretionary bonus. *Pension scheme. *VHI group scheme. *Paid CPD programme fees *Sports and Social events | ||
