Due to the sustained and continuing growth of our client, they are seeking a Senior / Managing Estimator to join their highly motivated and successful team.

Primary responsibilities

To provide the most realistic net price for the project - liaise with consultants as appropriate in tender preparation; where required carry out analytical build up of unit rates; obtain competitive subcontractor and supplier quotations in accordance with guidance notes available; ensure all subcontractor packages are sent out in good time; taking off is to be in general accordance with standard method of measurement; prepare tender settlement sheet and attend tender settlement meetings; check all tender document information is available and of a standard suitable for tendering; prepare tenders based on estimating procedure guidance notes (copy will be supplied); undertake site visits in preparation of tenders and take photos; price all works in line with current market conditions.

Knowledge and experience

Position requires comprehensive knowledge of estimating and tendering procedures to accurately price tender packages in accordance with standard company estimating procedures and to suit return dates where applicable.  The senior estimator shall have a substantial professional background in the estimating aspect of the construction industry.  A suitable and recognised qualification in building is an advantage.
