| Position: Health and Safety Manager (Highways) This is a great opportunity to join our client who has a strong and ambitious reputation within the industry. Currently this firm has an urgent vacancy for an experienced Health and Safety Manager, who will be required to develop, review and monitor implementation of the FCL Health and Safety management system. The successful applicant with also ensure legal compliance and alignment with the Highways Services Division and Corporate requirements. The ideal applicant should have the following qualifications and experience; Technical * Previous experience in health and safety * Ideally NEBOSH Construction Certificate Minimum * CSCS qualification preferred * ideally working toward NEBOSH diploma / NVQ level 4 * IT skills Management / Interpersonal skills * Good communicator - listening, written and verbal. * Time management and influencing skills * Training Delivery experience The Heath and Safety Manager (Highways) will be accountable to Group HSEQ Manager as line manager for all H&S issues with liaison / performance monitoring responsibility to the Highways Services Divisional Director for Divisional performance (includes Street Lighting and Fencing Division) The successful applicant will be required to: Ensure that the requirements of the group HSEQ management system, with particular emphasis, but not limited to health and safety are being applied on site and administrative offices for the Highways Services Division, and projects of other divisions when necessary, by means of periodic inspection, audits and meetings. Provide information, training, instruction and task specific advice to operational and managerial personnel. Ensure health and safety competency is maintained by ensuring that appropriate training is identified and provided for Divisional Personnel. Lead accident / incident investigation, supporting project investigation to ensure timely investigation and implementation of effective improvement / prevention measure. Provide assistance to Business Development for H&S aspects of pre quals / tenders etc. Provide support to associated Group Companies.
