| Project Director - Japan Our client, an International Construction and Management consultancy business focused on providing high-quality cost and project management advice currently requires a project management director in Tokyo to represent the luxury division of one of the world's most prestigious organizations. Infiniti, the luxury division of Nissan Motor Company, recently announced a £950m comprehensive Retail Environment Design Initiative (IREDI). Infiniti's objective is to elevate their brand to true luxury status. One part of this is to invest in the retail facilities, revealing the face of the organization to its customers establishing a unique new look and signage for Infiniti dealersglobally.This investment is to be cost effectively implemented in a consistent manner as the business expands . As Infiniti's representative our client is overseeing 320 facilities currently building in 15 countries across the world with multi language technical guides to support local delivery and construction. Individual projects vary from $100k to $25m. As the IREDI project director, Tokyo, you will be responsible for the day to day management of the program execution and managing the IREDI program strategy in Infiniti's general overseas markets which involves all locations outside of North America, Europe and Japan. Your primary focus will be directing a multidiscipline team to ensure a consistent and coherent interpretation and execution of program standards amongst the stakeholders, and to balance the demands of Nissan / Infiniti's corporate offices. As the Team Leader you will also play a vital part in providing the business with strategic direction and future planning to enable the successful delivery of the program roll out on a going forward basis while receiving and disseminating design & program management matters from the USA and ensuring consistent & coherent interpretation of design & compliance rules. You will be in overall charge for ensuring the definition of the design requirement for the brand; setting up the program infrastructure in the overseas markets to enable efficient delivery and implementation; developing internal and external resource plans to enable implementation using appropriately skilled individuals; supporting the procurement of key program suppliers to ensure that they can deliver required scope in a timely and cost efficient manner; directly negotiating key contracts with suppliers to ensure lowest price for the desired quality; providing advice to drive the strategic direction of the program to enable the meeting of Infiniti's business goals and providing strategic advice to Infiniti regarding overall program strategy At an operational level you will manage all vendors on the IREDI Program in terms of quality of product and service delivery; be responsible for program management construction, provide centralized support to regional teams for the review and approval of dealer specific issues to ensure brand compliance in line with brand program rules and specifications and provide dispute resolution as necessary between regional project teams regarding branding issues as well as negotiating annual supplier contract renewals and fee negotiation. Unique characteristics of the project include; low cost procurement in overseas markets at a first, second and third tier supplier level; true cultural challenges of a global program; application of brand standards in different environments; a program management office centrally located in Nashville to support all markets and appointment from business case development to full lifecycle management of the facilities and the unique retail image and layout for the automotive environment. You will be an experienced project / programme manager with auto-retail sector experience. In return our client is offering circa £80000 plus package and the opportunity to work on this global project as project director.
