Our client, a leading European property adviser, currently requires a mechanical & electrical cost manager in its London team to provide specialist M&E cost support to the internal business units and successfully deliver a number of projects for a number of key clients as part of an expanding M&E team.

The role will require you to carry out pre and post contract cost management on a variety of projects from feasibility stage to final account completion, carry out and /or assist with cost planning, value engineering, option analysis, procurement advice, preparation of tender documentation, returned tender analysis and contractor selection as well as post contract duties such as valuations, cost report management, change management, and final account agreement.

You should be aware of the latest legislation and its implications as well as the latest M&E innovations and sustainable design solutions. An understanding of whole life costs would be beneficial.

You will also assist in the training, mentoring and development of junior members of staff.

As the role requires detailed technical and commercial knowledge of M&E systems you will ideally have a minimum of 5 years experience as an M&E surveyor within a consultancy or client environment although candidates with relevant experience of M&E cost management from a contracting background would also be considered.

RICS / CIBSE or equivalent is preferred although candidates with good compensating experience would also be considered.
