| Our client, one of the leading Property and Construction Consutlancy firms in the UK is actively looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Building Services Engineer to become part of, and potentially the future leader of the team in providing this service. As a company they do not offer a full consultancy design service in Building Services Engineering, however they work closely with many mainstream consultants, in addition to their Project managers and Quantity Surveyors. Qualifications and experience The candidate will ideally, but not necessarily be chartered and, whilst coming from an electrical services background, be able to provide relevant advice on both electrical and mechanical disciplines. He/she will almost certainly have experience in both the contracting and consulting aspects of the business and will have several years' experience of direct interface with clients and other building professionals. The candidate will have had experience in the Health Sector within the last five years and will need to be able to discuss fluently the requirements of NHS and private sector health clients. Experience of working on PFI projects, either as the client's representative or as part of the developer's team would be an advantage. As well as design experience, the candidate will, ideally have had some experience of Building Services Commissioning and be able to provide advice on maintenance issues. A thorough understanding of Building Regulation requirements is also required, as is an up to date knowledge of technical and commercial practices within the construction industry. The candidate must be able to prepare reports to a high standard and in a style to suit the particular project requirements and recipient. A good standard of computer literacy is required and some understanding of and ability in the use of Hevacomp computer design software would be an advantage. The candidate should have experience of delivering engineering services consultancy services to the complete satisfaction of the client and in a cost-effective manner. The balance of service delivery, meeting the clients' needs and fee profitability is an important aspect of the duties required. Location The position is based in London and currently the majority of our work is in the South East of England.
