Our client is now recruitng for a Business Development Manager to work closely with the Director of Business Development (EFS) to devise, implement and take ownership of the business development plan to meet the growth and financial targets for EFS by generating and securing new business opportunities with prospective clients. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for new customer acquisition across the UK and accountable for securing new business to meet growth and financial targets at the required levels of profitability. The role has no direct reports, but is responsible for developing and maintaining close working relationships with key staff within the business.Key accountabilities are establishing an external network of business and professional contacts within the property and facilities industry such that our client is widely promoted and represented in the industry.Specific responsibility for representing our client In the North of England· To win new work for EFS.to achieve growth targets.· Understand customers' business activities and needs, provide sound information and expert advice on the services that EFS can provide in order to maximise the opportunityfor EFS such that clients benefit from realistic and workable solutions that leverage the full range of services that are on offer.· Ensure that regular contact is made across a number of contacts within each of the client bases-:· Increase the value of new business to EFS by optimising opportunity from existing customers and clients through cross, range and up-selling.· Develop a systematic plan for new customer prospecting, regularly review and monitor progress against agreed targets and milestones.· Formulate innovative business solutions for current and prospective customers, looking for business critical processes and developing or modifying new service offerings that create a real competitive advantage for EFS an our client as a whole.· Lead, develop and present high quality business proposals both in written form and 'high impact' presentations utilising up-to-date techniques as appropriate.· When formulating bid proposals understand sources of potential risk and ensure that these are taken into full account, balancing risk with reward, prior to bid submission. Bid proposals should include full provision for Health, Safety, Environmental, People (TUPE) and Technical Compliance issues that affect customers· Liaise with Commercial to ensure properly casted estimations are submitted and supported by appropriate contract terms and conditions· Provide the Director of Business Development and Business Stream Director with regular reports highlighting progress against business development plan. Qualifications and Experience: Expected* Proven and successful experience gained in a Business Development field-based sales role in at least one large professional and quality orientated FM business.* Proven experience and thorough knowledge of the full range of out sourced service provision within the FM market.* A high degree of knowledge of M&E Asset Management* Can demonstrate an enviable sales record and proven success in securing services and profitable opportunities * A thorough understanding and knowledge of up-to-date competitor and market intelligence.* Educated to degree level with a professional qualification in Business Management or equivalent.* A proven network of contacts within the UK property and facilities industry.Desirable* Membership of BIFM and /or IFMA would be an advantage. Personal Competencies:* An obvious empathy with customers and clients, an ability to quickly develop relationships.* Good personal organisational skills and ability to prepare and follow up short term plans.
