 Electrical Design Engineer - Cambridge / London Our client is recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our client's projects engineering teams. The role is based in Cambridgeshire with project locations throughout East Anglia, London and the South East. Working as a member of a multi-discipline project design team, the Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for delivering the electrical input at all stages from feasibility and optioneering through to the production of detailed designs for procurement and construction. DUTIES*Surveying and reporting on existing electrical installations*Electrical plant selection and installation design*Writing procurement documentation*Must be confident in producing design documentation within tight budgets and timescales. *Create electrical load schedules, schematic and design drawings and associated documentation*Perform and check cable calculations using software and by hand. CANDIDATE*Ideally degree educated in Electrical Engineering, (or HNC / HND with extensive experience)*Ideally be Chartered Electrical Engineer, or be qualified and motivated to become Chartered*Experience of working with P&IDs to create equipment, instrumentation and load schedules specific experience in the creation of electrical single line diagrams, block cabling, cable routing, and associated diagrams fluency in the use of AMTECH Pro-Design and Protect software*AutoCAD drawing experience will be useful (but not essential)*Knowledge of various methods of contract procurementSALARY*Our client is willing to look at permanent or contract staff for this role*Permanent salary 35 - 48K depending upon experience*Will look at candidates willing to relocate from within the UK
