 We currently have a requirement for a Senior Planning Engineer to join a growing regional contractor in South London. Although the projects will predominantly be within the rail sector, our client is seeking an individual with vast construction and/or civil engineering project experience.Our client has left the recession with a restructured business and a strong order book for 2012. This role exists due to continued growth and the internal movement of employees within the business and the right individual will be offered good opportunities for progression internally within the future.The role will be to work on building projects within the rail sector worth anything up to £20m each, including station refurbishments, bridges, platform extensions, etc. As a result, its imperative that the successful candidate comes from a building/civil engineering background and isn't just a "software jockey" from the rail sector; he/she must have prior building knowledge and understand how a project comes together on site. This will be a tender-biased and thus office based role although you may occasionally go to site when problems arise on projects. Software experience is irrelevant as full training will be provided.Ideally, the successful candidate will have the following:- Significant planning experience within the construction or civil engineering sectors.- "Hands-on" site experience.- At least 18 months tender planning.- An engineering or construction related degree would be advantageous.- Proficiency with either Asta Powerproject or Primavera P6.- A desire to be based more in the office than out on site.- Good communication and organisation skills.- Eligible to work in the UK.In return, our client is offering a basic salary of up to £53,000 per annum plus travel allowance (traditionally 10%), pension, health insurance and various other flexi-benefits.Apply now for immediate consideration.
