Job Description My client is a Regional Civil Engineering with proven and extensive civil engineering and project management skills, delivering engineering excellence through cost-efficient, client focused solutions from minor works through to major civil engineering projects. Due to a growing order book an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the Southern Region. Responsibilities - Providing a thorough and professional service to all allocated contracts - Advise on options and alternatives to maximise commercial opportunity - Seek and engage the most commercially beneficial subcontractors. Subsequently make payments whilst safeguarding the company's interests - Prepare interim and final valuations at the required intervals, including applications for additional work and claims. Ensure that payment is received within the contractual period - Reconcile cost and value in accordance with monthly programme. Analyse and report significant variances - Maximise income whilst taking cognisance of the benefits of a satisfied client and the value of repeat business - Recognise variations and potential claims, keep appropriate records (or ensure that they are kept) - Delegate work to any assistants and/or trainees, monitoring performance to ensure compliance with standards, and coaching and developing them to fulfil more demanding work Requirements- Experience in working on civil engineering projects for a mainstream regional contractor - 5 years + - Working knowledge of computerised cost capture / value monitoring systems - Strong report writing skills - Must be a team player but also able to work on own initiative - HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering / Quantity Surveying desirable Rewards & Benefits - Basic salary up to £55,000- 26 days annual leave plus public holidays - Flexible annual leave scheme - Defined contributions pension scheme - Company car/car allowance - Choice flexible benefits scheme If you feel you have the relevant experience for this role please contact me on 01189 522240 or email your current CV to S.OConnell@project-resource.co.uk.
