Bid Development Manager – Healthcare Sector – Edinburgh/Glasgow, Scotland

THE COMPANY AND SITUATION:

One of the leading providers of healthcare infrastructure to the public sector requires an ambitious, energetic Project Manager with experience in the Construction or Public sectors to assist in their current bidding endeavours. They are currently bidding to supply healthcare facilities and services under the “hub” scheme of the Scottish Futures Trust, under which the public and private sectors come together to form  “hubco” companies to deliver healthcare infrastructure.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The following experience and attributes are essential for this role:

• A minimum of 5 years post-graduate commercial experience
• Project Management experience in Construction or the Public Sector either in Healthcare or Education?
• Previous Bid experience: Previous involvement at the “sharp end” of bidding for a project, be it client side or supplier side, i.e. you could have been in the Public Sector involved in evaluating a bid, or in the private sector compiling the bid.
• Outstanding written skills to the standard necessary produce flawless, professional bid documentation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills for the purpose of presentations
• Drive and enthusiasm: Will you put the effort in and do what it takes to win one of these bids?

Please note the above experience is essential: You require all of the above to be eligible for this role.

Desirable, but not essential, is either of the following:

• Existing networks/contacts in the above relevant areas
• Previous experience of hub, hubCo, LIFT, BSF (Building Schools for the Future)

THE ROLE:

Your main task here is to pull together the strands of the project into one coherent document, so you’ll need to be able to demonstrate a track record of having done so previously. This is a very visible role, in that you’ll be the “face” of the bid, at the very forefront of the bid, liaising with the public sector, ascertaining their needs, then working with your supply chain to plan how to deliver that, collating what will ultimately become your bid.
