A small Mechanical & Electrical Contractor is actively looking for a Mechanical Estimator to be based out of their Berkshire office.This Building Services Contractor was established in the 1970's and has a group annual turn over of over £35Million through out their 3 offices. The Berkshire office has a turn over of £4Million and a steady growth plan over the next 5 + years. This respected M&E Contractor is looking for a Mechanical Estimator to Estimate projects throughout London & the South East. A majority of the mechanical services installation will be within the Retail Sector so having retail experience would be advantageous but not essential. Project values range from £100k - £1Million. The successful Mechanical Estimator will come from a Building Services background (Mechanical), Will have a proven track record as a Mechanical Estimating, will be commercially aware, be able to maintain and grow existing client relationships, and will show a desire to improve or implement new business strategies to increase company profit. Main Duties:*Assist the development of a successful commercial business through personal endeavour and action.*With the Management Team, select and check all incoming enquiries to establish suitability for the Company Business Plan*Prepare prime cost estimate from tender documentation*Manage and pro-actively support all commercial activities to ensure they reflect the requirements of the business and implement the agreed business plan to achieve current and future agreed performance targets*To ensure that existing Customers and potential new Customers genuinely receive a quality focussed service and attention*Utilise existing systems to maintain existing Customers and develop new Clients*You will develop a systematic sales plan which will achieve the quotation and sales targets in the maintenance area of our business, to meet margins and capacities as detailed and agreed in the Company budget*The area in which our business development is to occur involves primarily End Users and their Professional Teams, where there is a commercial commitment rather than multi-bid tender situations*Personal visits, sales development and negotiation represents a major element of this position*Update ACT! Sales Database dailyInitial TargetsQuotations*Undertake a minimum of £250k of quotations per month (of varied values), therefore, £625k of quotations per week or increase conversion rate*Ensure that all estimating activities are delivered to the agreed time/service/ specification/presentation*Inject creativity and alternative methodology into every tender*Establish Project Preliminaries and hourly ratesSub Contractors*Ensure cross-referencing of your potential employers variations to sub-contractors variations and correct pricing is being completed by the Engineering Department*Manage material and specialist sub-contract enquiriesCost Recovery*Support the final account production and negotiations throughout the project to settlement*Support procurement wherever necessary*Ensure all staff are fully aware of the spend values within the tender (by producing a buying plan), review this as the project progresses and at completion*Ensure all staff are aware throughout the project of their role and responsibility within the financial management and the focus on profitability
