 Our client is a successful regional main contractor specialising in Social / Affordable Housing projects for local authorities. A forward thinking and rapidly growing company, able to offer long term prospects and opportunity. A requirement has become available for a Managing Quantity Surveyor, to oversee projects across the South West. Overseeing three existing Quantity Surveyors within a commercial team, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects, based from either Exeter or Bristol. Contracts will typically consist of multiple Social Housing units using either traditional or timber framed building methods, between £1m and £8m in value. The successful candidate MUST demonstrate;* Experience as Senior Quantity Surveyor working for main contractors (not PQS or client side) * Experience managing the commercial aspects of new build construction, and ideally new build social housing projects within the South West for local authorities (must be new build rather than decent homes, maintenance or refurbishment projects) * Experience managing Junior or Intermediate Quantity Surveyors as a direct line manager. * A steady permanent (PAYE) work history without gaps or jumping between employers* Current residence within the South West, Between Exeter and Bristol. * Flexibility in travelling to projects across the region to cover multiple projects and to attend meetings.* Salary expectations between £45 - 48,000 + package The successful candidate will be rewarded with a strong work package, a clear path for career progression and a secure work pipeline through 2011.
