A permanent opportunity for a Contracts Manager has arisen with our client a leading contractor providing Mechanical and Electrical services. Based from their office in Cambridgeshire the primary function will be to control the physical contracting activities undertaken by the company in the following areas:*Control of cost expenditure on contracts within targets and allowances set at contract control meetings *Control of labour production and quality of workmanship within cost guidelines set at contract control meetings. *Mobilisation and efficient use of company resources to complete contracted works within budget, on time and to acceptable quality standards. *To use the company's resources to achieve a high customer satisfaction, which will lead to repeat business. *To prioritise their time to ensure fortnightly site visits to all current contracts. *To act as mentor and role model to the Project Engineers/Trainees and other site based employees. Skills, Knowledge & Competencies required An overall knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of HVAC/electrical systems and their installation methods. The ability to plan ahead, co-ordinate and prioritise workloads for self and others. Good communication skills, both written and oral. Good man management and motivational skills. The ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines. Good numeracy and literacy skills. The ability to multi-task and be methodical. The ability to read, interpret and fully understand specifications and drawings. A proactive approach to problem solving. A basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Cyberqube. A good knowledge of all aspects of health and safety within the industry and the ability to implement control measures at site level. Good leadership skills. A high level of discretion when handling confidential information. Consistently protect the company's contractual position.
