 My client a specialist within Energy Management and Power Systems, as part of continued expansion are actively looking to recruit a Principal Power Engineer.The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent with the Chartered Engineer status or pending. Practical experience of transmission, distribution or generation projects would be highly desirable.Applicants should meet the following criteria:Essential- Good general numeric and mathematical skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce high quality technical reports.- Good word-processing and spreadsheet knowledge- Project management or project engineering experience- Commercial awareness- Experience of economic analysis and cost-benefit appraisals- Knowledge of QA systems and document management - Good knowledge of UK and international standards and codesAs a proportion of their work is studies based, the candidate should have a good understanding of loadflow, fault and dynamic calculations. Knowledge of IPSA, PSSE or DigSilent and other analysis packages and software languages such as C++, Fortran, Python or Visual Basic would also be advantageous but practical experience would be equally valued.
