 My client is one of the world leaders in the manufacture of power generation equipment ranging from 2.5 MW to 64.0 MWAs part of Global expansion they are actively recruiting CIL Service Engineer to carry out all aspects of service and maintenanceThe role is multi-disciplined, and includes mechanical, electrical and electronic skills. The work is usually carried out at the customer's site, so the engineer must be able to work on his own initiative and with minimal supervision.ResponsibilitiesThe key responsibilities include:*Attending site to carry out regular maintenance inspections*Fault diagnosis and repair on all Centrax supplied equipment*Maintaining a good working relationship with the customer*Preparation of accurate reports and timesheets using the current Centrax system*Work within the current quality management system requirements*Work safely, and with consideration for the safety of othersSkillsDemonstrate the necessary skills to carry out the following tasks:*Annual and intermediate maintenance inspections*Engine removal and installation*Engine calibration and performance test*Engine strip, repair and rebuild to turbine 2nd stage vane level*Basic fault diagnosis and repair on any Centrax supplied equipment *Vibration survey on engine, gearbox and generator*Complete service reports and timesheets correctly, completely, and in a timely manner*Correct use of the Centrax stock system*Working knowledge and understanding of the Centrax Intranet*Ability to adequately plan and prepare for allocated tasksKnoweldegeDemonstrate a basic knowledge of the following:*Principles of a gas turbine*Principles and advantages of CHP installations*Centrax unit and engine control systems*Generator control and protection*Methods and systems of emissions control*Understand the differences between various maintenance contracts and the resulting consequences for both the customer and Centrax*Demonstrate a willingness and ability to pass on knowledge and experience to other engineers*Understand the Companies' Policies on health & safety, quality, and the environment*Be aware of the health & safety of yourself and of others, and be able to identify hazards and act to reduce risk *Be able to carry out a risk assessment and prepare a method statementIf you are interested in this fantastic opportunity contact James McNeaney on 0161 276 8135 for an informal non-committal discussion about this and other possible Renewable Energy positionsAlternatively send a copy of you CV to Jamesm@consort-recruitment.com
