Senior Process EngineerLocation: East MidlandsSalary is depending upon experience A large global chemical processing company now requires a senior process engineer to join their team.Primary Function:The successful candidate will provide process engineering knowledge, experience and specifications to the capital project process. They will provide technical support to the Operations teams (e.g. investigations, monitoring, commissioning, etc) and propose and contribute to continuous improvement work in the areas of process engineeringResponsibilities:*Responsible for preparation of process engineering specifications (e.g. for Capital Projects, Asset replacement, Process Change Orders, etc) *Take technical responsibility for designated unit operations in the manufacturing process and identify, investigate and evaluate cost saving measures and technical / environmental improvements *Responsible for mentoring and coaching junior members of the department and verifying / approving work output as necessary. *Lead / facilitate / participate in multi-disciplinary teams that critically investigate plant incidents and near misses. *Provide day to day technical support to operations team, including duty weekend coverage, as required. *Propose, contribute to and lead continuous improvement work in all aspects of performance within the Process Engineering functionSkills & Experience:You must come from a Chemical Processing background as a Senior Process Engineer. You will hold a minimum of a BSc in a Chemical Engineering related field. Ideally you would also have a background working on Top Tier COMAH sites.Position Competencies:*Candidates for this position must be able to effectively manage performance, champion change, influence and guide, be an advocate for the Company, and make sound decisions in the absence of clear direction or written guidelines. *Incumbents are expected to demonstrate a working proficiency level in the Critical Leadership Competencies of driving improvement in others, driving and managing teamwork, and communication effectiveness. *Required Core Competencies are technological orientation, proactively identifying improvement opportunities, problem solving, decision making, and operational awareness.
