Mechanical & Electrical Commercial Manager/Senior Quantity Surveyor Location Southampton Salary & Benefits £45,000 - £50,000 Benefits Car or allowance, Pension, private health, 25 days annual leave Company They are a leading specialist mechanical and electrical engineering and facilities services company, with more than 100 years of experience. My client provide a total life cycle of care for a facility, including the design, build and installation of mechanical and electrical systems, then the ongoing maintenance of these services and the provision of integrated facilities management. Job They are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager to manage all aspects of risk across the business. Responsibilities Instigate and/or manage all legal proceedings working closely with external legal advisors where necessary and monitoring them to a conclusion. Provide commercial input to business proposals. Plan and deploy risk mitigation strategies throughout the business including integration with business unit managers and other commercial units. Oversee life cycle models on all contracts Plan, implement, and overseeing the risk management procedure through a process of analysis and commercial/operational contract reviews on a regular basis in conjunction with the business unit commercial managers. Ensuring that the reviewing of contracts and attendant documentation and liaison with clients and their lawyers is carried out to ensure that all risks are identified and avoided. Review of tender documents and identifying the need for bonds, warranties, and guarantees in accordance with Company policy. Advise on legal requirements flowing out of all contractual documentation both internal and external including the drafting of contract conditions where required and liaise with both the bid process and operational/procurement requirements. Develop and deploy commercial risk assessment solutions, tools, processes and procedures. Review and continuously improve risk assessment procedures, processes and strategies in terms of risk potential and consequential severity. Qualifications and Experience: Quantity Surveying background Mechanical & Electrical experience essential Chartership advantageous A high level of understanding about the key financial drives of a Services business Experience in preparing and negotiating the legal and commercial aspects of sizeable Services contracts Strong analysis and report writing skills demonstrating attention to detail. Proven experience in negotiating complex deals with third party suppliers. Proven ability to contribute to the development of long term business plans and commercial strategy. Proven ability to see possible risks and issues in customers business. This is a challenging opportunity with a company who have ambitious plans for growth.
