Automotive Chassis (Design) EngineerLocation - WiltshireSalary - NegotiableOne of the worlds leading automotive manufacturer is now looking to expand their design & test engineering department.As part of the role you will support the DRIVETRAIN (Chassis and Powertrain) engineering section of the company. Provide technical capability for development, production and quality of automotive chassis parts/systems.Main responsibilities:*Creation of drawings and specifications for parts / systems for new vehicle variations and European special editions. As necessary, support of testing in order to verify that parts quality meet with relevant company standards. Main emphasis will be on Chassis Design & Development but there will be an expectation to support other drivetrain section parts as necessary.*Support for analysis & countermeasure of warranty issues, working with the Japan factory, service and suppliers.*Cost reduction activities; research and analysis of proposals from suppliers, vehicle teardown and own research.*Supplier liaison to localise components for the factories in the UK and abroad.*Research of advanced technology trends through benchmarking, technology investigation, conferences, etc and report results within the company.Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required:*Degree or equivalent in Automotive Engineering or demonstrable experience with either an OEM or Automotive parts supplier.*CATIA V5 2D/3D & analytical software skills are desirable.*Be proactive and demonstrable high level of self motivation to deliver.If you are interested in applying for the position then please forward a copy of your C.V to Paul Gorton paulg@consort-recruitment.com or please call 0161 276 8135 to more information.
