My Client, a leading environmental consultancy is offering an exciting opportunity for a senior ecological consultant with good experience of EIA procedures and legislation to expand their skills and experience by helping to develop our ecology offer across the east and south east of England. As one of the largest providers of consultancy and research on environmental matters throughout the UK, our strength lies in our ability to provide clients with science based solutions through an unparalleled breadth of objective, topical, information, advice and implementation services.The RoleWe are looking for an experienced ecologist who will be able to help develop our ecology business both internally and externally. At all levels our ecologists are committed to providing specialist ecological advice, in particular protected species survey and assessment for planning applications and environmental impact assessments.Education/Qualifications/Experience/SkillsThe post holder will be expected to have a good understanding of the role of consultants within the commercial sector and have the vision and ability to identify and expand new areas of business. Their experience needs to include Phase 1 habitat and protected species survey capability, ideally with an area of specialism and we are particularly interested in candidates who have specific protected species licences. Our senior ecologists need to have the capability and experience of producing and implementing protected species development licence applications and a sound knowledge of EIA with experience of writing related technical reports.Successful candidates will have an initial degree or equivalent in an environmental subject along with an in depth knowledge of ecological principles, wildlife conservation and practical habitat management.
