A Senior Construction Administrator is required by 1st Financial Building Corporation of Canada, a full service, self sufficient affiliate of NewGround with offices in Chicago, IL; St. Louis, MO; San Francisco, CA; Atlanta, GA and Portsmouth, NH.  NewGround is a leading international design / implementation firm serving the financial services industry. The company’s offering includes architectural design, construction management, branding strategies, print and multimedia merchandising, retail rollout campaigns and employee development programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·       Be familiar with all CCDC documents, and assist in the preparation of subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, project correspondence and other forms related to the construction contract for financial facility construction projects.

·       Lead the construction team through schematic estimate and develop and maintain an updated schedule.

·       Work with the architectural team in design finalization.

·       Conduct pre-bid reviews and monitor all pricing phases.

·       Close out project with highest levels of efficiency and professionalism.

·       Lead supplement presentation and buyout meetings.

·       Review, approve and follow up with the site staff, all testing procedures and data.

·       Develop and maintain a submittal log.

·       Transmit project correspondence to field Site Superintendent and data-file documents in project folders.

·       Review invoice aging reports and monitor subcontractor payments.

·       Assemble all forms necessary and represent primary contact between accounting, subcontractor and field project manager regarding payment process.

·       Enter and maintain all financial costs associated with project in software database.

·       Run reports tracing project costs and relay this information to appropriate construction personnel.

·       Provide administrative support to V. P. Construction and President in preparation of proposals, letters of agreement, planning studies, general filing, and general administrative correspondence to prospective clients. 

·       Responsible for permitting, bid solicitation, bid package preparation, meeting minutes, drawing coordination, submittals, punch list coordination and closeout documents.

·       Provide monthly progress reports and update construction schedule for distribution to clients and sub contractors.

·       Present Power Point presentations on various related interest topics to Site Supervisors and PM’s monthly.

·       Work closely with subcontractors to coordinate contract issues, change orders and daily collaboration on a project.

 

REQUIRED:

·         Minimum of five years of experience in the construction industry in an administrator, engineer, technical support or managerial role.

·         Must be legally permitted to work in Canada.

·         Proficient with MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.  Experience with Timberline and Spitfire is an asset but not required.

·         Ability to read blueprints is required.

·         Ability to estimate is required.

·         Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills

·         Bank or credit union building experience is preferred but not required. 

·         Must be organized, client oriented, self-motivated, and detail oriented.

·         Proven track record in:

·         College diploma or university degree highly desirable but not required.
